1. Who We Are

Alfa Power is an independent game developed and operated by the Developers of Alfa Power. We are private individuals operating the App as an independent project. References to "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to the Developers of Alfa Power.

2. Eligibility

The App is intended for users aged 16 and above. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

3. Accounts

3.1 Registered Accounts

You may create a registered account by providing a display name, a valid email address, and a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

3.2 Guest Accounts

You may use the App without creating a registered account via Guest Mode. Guest accounts are assigned a unique identifier and a generated display name. Your game progress, statistics, and saved data are stored server-side and tied to that identifier. Guest accounts that have been inactive for 6 consecutive months may be permanently deleted, along with all associated game data. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from guest account deletion.

3.3 Account Security

You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been accessed without authorisation or are being used in violation of these Terms.

4. In-App Purchases and Premium

4.1 Premium Purchase

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase to remove advertisements ("Premium"). Premium is purchased through the Google Play Store and is subject to Google's payment terms and refund policies. Once activated, Premium is tied to your registered account.

4.2 No Refunds from Us

All purchases are processed by Google Play. Refund requests must be directed to Google Play in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. We have no obligation to provide refunds except as required by applicable law or Google's mandatory refund window.

4.3 Changes to Purchases

We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or alter the features included in the Premium offering at any time. In such cases, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice to affected users.

4.4 App Discontinuation

If we decide to permanently discontinue the App, we will endeavour to provide at least 30 days' notice within the App. We will not provide refunds for Premium purchases in this event, except where required by applicable law.

5. Advertisements

The App displays advertisements to guest users and registered users who have not purchased Premium. Ads are served through third-party advertising networks. These networks may collect certain data about your device and usage in order to serve relevant advertisements, subject to their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

6. Push Notifications

The App may send you push notifications to inform you of game events such as turn reminders, messages from other players, and social updates (friend requests, game invitations). You can manage which categories of notifications you receive within the App's settings, or disable push notifications entirely through your device settings.

7. Game Modes and Features

We reserve the right to add, modify, suspend, or remove game modes, features, rules, mechanics, or any other aspect of the App at any time, with or without notice. The App is a living product and will change over time.

7.1 AI Opponents

AI opponents (Bots) are powered by deterministic scoring logic. They do not use generative AI, large language models, or personal data profiling. They are not subject to the high-risk AI provisions of the EU AI Act.

8. Dictionary and Word Content

The App uses standard official dictionaries. All words contained in those dictionaries may appear in gameplay, including words that some users may find offensive. By using the App you acknowledge and accept this. We do not filter, moderate, or take responsibility for individual words produced as a result of valid dictionary gameplay.

8.1 Bot Behaviour

AI opponents play any valid dictionary word based purely on scoring logic, without filtering for offensive, inappropriate, or otherwise objectionable content. By choosing to play against Bots, you acknowledge and accept this behaviour, and we accept no liability for any offence caused by words played by AI opponents.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its servers
• Use any automated tools, bots, scripts, or third-party software to gain an unfair advantage
• Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended mechanics — any such exploits must be reported to us
• Attempt to interfere with other players' gameplay experience
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose

9.1 Display Names

Your display name must not contain offensive, obscene, discriminatory, or sexually explicit language. You must not use a display name that impersonates another person, player, or public figure, or that is intended to mislead others about your identity.

We reserve the right to reset any display name that violates these guidelines to a system-generated name, without prior notice. Repeat or severe violations of the display name policy may result in suspension or permanent ban of your account.

9.2 Complaints

If you believe any game behaviour or content violates these Terms, you may contact us at privacy@alfa-power.se. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 14 days.

9.3 Player Reporting

Registered account holders may report other players for violations of these Terms using the in-app reporting feature. Reports should include a clear description of the violation. False or abusive reports may themselves constitute a violation of these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All content within Alfa Power, including but not limited to game design, artwork, tile designs, board mechanics, power systems, sounds, and branding, is the intellectual property of the Developers of Alfa Power unless otherwise stated. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal entertainment purposes only.

You may not copy, distribute, reproduce, or create derivative works based on any part of the App without our prior written consent.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs or viruses. We do not warrant that defects will be corrected, or that the App or the servers that make it available are free of harmful components.

We do not guarantee the availability of online or multiplayer features and may suspend them at any time.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPERS OF ALFA POWER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GAME PROGRESS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any). If you have not made any payments, our total liability shall not exceed EUR 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any operational reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@alfa-power.se or using the account deletion option within the App's settings.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If changes are material, we will endeavour to provide notice within the App.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country of residence.
